Chuck Lee attended the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Spring Meeting in Washington DC from April 6-8. The meeting is the world’s premier event for antitrust professionals. The meeting featured more than sixty sessions across antitrust, consumer protection, IP, and international tracks and, among many others, offered programs discussing antitrust economics, Big Data, the evolving status of the consumer welfare standard and antitrust enforcement in agricultural markets.
Particular highlights included the annual Agency Update from the Department of Justice during which the DOJ Deputy Assistant Attorneys General shared insights about DOJ’s civil and criminal work and policy initiatives; and the Enforcer’s Roundtable which brought together the top officials from the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, the Federal Trade Commission and the European Union to discuss emerging global antitrust issues and enforcement priorities.
